Hospitality & Tourism Degree Program
Introduction to Hospitality & Tourism Management is open to HT majors and non-majors. It explores the broad scope of the industry and gives undecided students the opportunity to explore the field. It is suggested that students take the introductory course in the fall of their freshman year.
Sophomore, junior, and senior-level courses are designed for HT majors only. Some of the courses include Sanitation Management, Culinary Fundamentals, Food, Beverage, and Labor Cost Management, Strategic Revenue Management, Professional Development, and Commercial Food Production Management. Commercial Food Production Management is a capstone course that gives students the opportunity to plan and execute a catered event from start to finish.
HT Majors are also required to take two Hospitality & Tourism Topics courses. The courses will be offered on a rotational basis and some of the topics include living a sustainable lifestyle, essentials of wine, event management, beverage management, private club management, and casino management.
