The Chariton Valley News Press is accepting applications for fall 2011 sports editor internships and news editor internships. The News Press seeks motivated, proactive individauls who have a passion for local news or high school athletics. Interns will have the opportunity to work on design, photography and a varitety of writing styles, including hard news, feature stories and opinion columns. Knowledge of Associated Press Stylebook and previous writing experience required.

The News Press' main office is located in Salisbury, MO, and serves a 5,200 readership within Chariton County and bordering communities on a weekly basis. Fall internships will begin Aug. 15 and interns will receive a monthly stipend and paid housing for the duration of the internship. Internships can also be for credit, if approved by advisor.
