"Your Valley, My Valley, MissOURi Valley"
October 17, 2011
Dear Alumni and Friends,
With approval from the MVC board of trustees, I am excited to announce the launch of the “Your Valley, My Valley, MissOURi Valley” campaign for the construction of a Student Activity Center. I am pleased to inform you that the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation has provided a challenge grant to Missouri Valley College in the amount of $750,000. To secure the Mabee grant, MVC must raise $1.4 million over the next 12 months.
After five years of research and strategic planning for the Student Activity Center, it was determined that the students of Missouri Valley College would greatly benefit from such a project. The need for a Student Activity Center is demonstrated by our substantial growth over the past 10 years. Student enrollment is at an all time high, new programs have been added so that there are now over 40 academic degrees offered, and MVC began its first ever graduate degree program in July.
A campaign committee has been formed and is being headed by Dr. Gordon Imlay ’59. Dr. Imlay and the committee members will be actively engaged in contacting and soliciting support from alumni and friends. The committee members will do their very best to ensure that every Valley alumni and friend is given the opportunity to participate.
The 10 years I have spent at Missouri Valley College have been the most rewarding of my career. I am continually inspired by the wonderful, successful people that received a life-changing education at Valley. The experience has been different for each of us, but our time at this institution has impacted our lives forever. With your support, the “Your Valley, My Valley, MissOURi Valley” campaign will continue to allow students in the future to experience the life-changing educational opportunities that we have so richly enjoyed at this institution. Today truly is a great day to be a Viking!
