
The MVC dance team is under the direction of Landon Alexander. Alexander has been head coach of the Viking Dancers since 2008.
Alexander’s dance career began with the Linda Doolan Dance Academy in Marshall, Mo. He continued his dance career at MVC where he was a member of the Repertory Dance Ensemble for three years, and a member of the dance program for four years.
He trained with and or worked under: Sarah Swenson of Vox Dance Theatre in Los Angeles; Holly Lampe of Orange Coast College, tap, jazz, modern; Tatiana Toliver, Russian ballet; Sarah Moore, contemporary, choreography, modern; and Christopher Windom, Broadway style dance.
He worked with the MVC dance team for three years as a resident choreographer. Alexander has also choreographed for the Missouri Valley Connection Show Choir for six years. During his time at MVC, he was able to use his deep rooted theatre background to become dance captain or a featured dancer in many theatre productions in regional theatres across America. He was also a featured dancer in the regional premiere of the Broadway show, Elton John, and Tim Rice’s “Aida.” His experience includes coaching and choreographing numerous routines for state and national competitions, he has also worked with some high schools as a musical choreographer.
Coach Alexander received a Bachelor of Arts in theatre performance and a minor in dance from Missouri Valley College
