Daniel Allen - Head Coach
Head Coach Daniel Allen, a Perry, Okla. native enters his fifth season as Head Coach of Viking softball program.
Coach Allen was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 1996 Major League Baseball draft. He attended the University of Central Oklahoma in 1997 where he played baseball for the NCAA Division II National Runner-up Broncho’s before transferring to Missouri Valley College. Allen was a member of the 2001 MVC regional champion baseball team, earning all-American honors as an outfielder.
Coach Allen received his Bachelor of Science degree in business marketing from MVC and a master’s degree in business management from Lindenwood University. Coach Allen and his wife, Tiffany and four children, Mya, Isiah, Elias and Easton reside in Marshall, Mo.
Ashley Cobern-Graduate Assistant
Ashley Cobern enters her second season with the Viking softball program. Cobern was a four-year player for the Missouri Valley softball team, graduating with a double major in business administration of management and marketing, with a minor in psychology. As gruaduate assistant, Cobern serves as an assistant to the varsity softball team and as head coach of the junior varsity program. She is also involed in recruiting, organizing practices and workouts.
Cobern was a four-year member of the Belton (Mo.) High School varsity softball team, and is originally from Cleveland, Mo. She is pursuing her master's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sports management at the University of Central Missouri.
