Viking Softball Team

The Missouri Valley Viking’s Softball Team had a record setting year in 2009 capping off the season with a trip to the National Tournament in Decatur, Alabama.  The Lady Vikings, headed by Coach Josh Miller and Assistant Coaches Stephanie Hey and Suzanne Horine, were the first ever MVC softball team to capture a win at the NAIA National Tournament.

Last season posed many obstacles for the Lady Viking squad with a number of games in Tucson, AZ against top ranked opponents as many underestimated the purple and orange.

Missouri Valley defeated nationally ranked Central Methodist University to win the HAAC Championship and secure a spot in the National Tournament.  Their campaign came to an end in mid-May with a season record of 34-23.
