Vladimir Simic is in his fourth season as Head Men’s Soccer Coach. In his first season with the Missouri Valley soccer program, Coach Simic assisted Coach Burton with the Women’s team and finished the season with a solid 9-6 record that placed Missouri Valley 5th in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

In his second season Coach Simic was Men’s and Women’s Assistant helping both teams improve their records. The Men's team achieved 11-3-3 – the best record in the past several seasons at Missouri Valley. The Women's team had an 11-7-2 and made the NAIA Region V playoffs for the first time in 10 years of the Women’s Soccer program at Missouri Valley.

While he was successfully working with both soccer teams, Simic completed his Master’s degree in Business Management at Lindenwood University in 2002.

Coach Simic came to Missouri Valley College from Mount Senario College. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and played four years for the nationally ranked soccer team that won back-to-back NAIA Region Championships. The program made two NAIA National Tournament appearances, in 1999 and 2000. During his extensive playing career both in Europe and United States, Simic has received many awards and recognitions for his accomplishments and team contributions.

Simic has had an opportunity to polish his coaching skills at various youth level programs in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Indiana, and holds a USSF National Coaching License.

Coach Simic is originally from Belgrade, Serbia, and is now a resident of Marshall with his wife, Milena.

 


Clayton Woodward
Graduate Assistant Men's Soccer Coach

Clayton Woodward is a graduate of Missouri Valley College with a degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Health and Fitness. Clayton was a student coach in 2005 assisting Coach Simic with the Junior Varsity Soccer Program. The team finished the season with an 8-2 record. In 2006 Clayton returned as a player where he played varsity the following two seasons for Coach Simic. Clayton is returning to Valley as the Men's Graduate Assistant Coach for the 2008-09 season. He will be working on a dual masters in Sports Management and Sports Fitness. Clayton has been developing his coaching skills through personal mentoring and by working soccer camps throughout the summer. He also manages the Biddy soccer program at the Salt Fork YMCA.
