The Missouri Valley Rodeo Team's practice and boarding facility is located just off campus. The Mack Porter Stables houses a 60-stall barn, individual pipe turn outs for students' horses, two full-size practice arenas, one indoor roping alley, and one outdoor roping alley.
The entire facility is used solely for rodeo practice and housing rodeo athletes' horses. Not only do the rodeo team members practice together daily, but they also have the opportunity to live together. For MVC students that choose to live on campus, Porter Brown Rodeo Residence Hall is set aside as the "rodeo dorm."
The MVC Rodeo Team coaching staff prides itself in giving each student individual attention both in and out of the arena. Our goal is not only to carry on the tradition of both national and regional champions at MVC, but to provide each student with a four-year education while allowing them to excel in the sport we all love. We provide students with the facilities, practice stock, and leadership to take their high school rodeo careers to the next level.
The Rodeo Team is treated as a valued part of the athletic department at Missouri Valley. Unlike most schools, the rodeo team members are recognized as not only cowboys and cowgirls, but as dedicated collegiate athletes.
