Tom Sandwith
Class of 2005
Tom played varsity football for four years at Missouri Valley College. In 1976 he was named District 16 Honorable Mention Defensive Halfback and in 1974 he was named NAIA runner up.
Tom was also a member for the varsity baseball team for four years and was named All Conference Pitcher in 1974 and 1975. He was voted MVP in 1975.
While at Valley he was a member of the V-Club and S-MSTA. Tom lists Grover Redford as his most influential person because of Redford’s love for students and athletes.
Tom spent 27 years teaching in Marshall, Missouri two years at St. Peters and 25 years at Marshall High School. While at Marshall High School Tom also served as the Director of Activities and Transportation Director.
While teaching and coaching Tom earned coaching honors with four appearances at the State Tennis Finals winning 2nd in 2001 and 4th in 2002. He has been named in Who’s Who Among High School Teachers numerous times.
