Delford R. Thompson

Class of 2004

Delford graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1963.  He served as a football manager for Head Coach Volney Ashford for the duration of his time as a Valley student.  In addition, he served as manager for the Track and field program under Head Coach Grover Redford for two years.

Delford was a member of the Varsity Letterman’s Club, a member of the Student Life Committee, and an officer in the Student Senate.  Delford’s commitment to Missouri Valley College has been unwavering over the years.  In 1991 Delford earned the Alumnus of the Year Award and served as President of the Missouri Valley College Alumni association.  He also ran the game clock for 33 years for the varsity football program and lined the field for 17 years.

Delford and his wife, Carol, reside in Marshall.  He is active in the Kiwanis, Rotary Club, and serves as treasurer on the board at First United Methodist Church.
