Dr. Frederick Skinner graduated from New Trier High School in 1941, receiving his diploma while on active duty with the U.S. Navy serving as a sonar man from 1942-46.
Fred was a student at Missouri Valley College from 1946-50, graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Biology. While at Valley, Fred was Freshman Senator, President of his sophomore class, four-year V-Club member, V-Club President his senior year. Fred was a member of the Tri Beta fraternity, which is a Biology Honorary Society, member of Sigma Nu for two years, serving as Lt. Commander his last year, and selected to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. Fred was a four-year football letterman, earning All-Conference First Team Honors three times and Second Team Honors once. In 1949 Fred earned Little All-American Honorable Mention honors.
Following his graduation from Missouri Valley College, Fred attended the Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago, IL, and completed his residency in Removable Prosthodontics at Marquette University in 1962. Fred is licensed to practice dentistry in Georgia, North Carolina, and Illinois and has been a diplomat for the American Board of Prosthodontics since 1972.
Until his retirement in 1991, Fred was a staff member at the VA Medical Center practicing Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics in Atlanta, Georgia. Fred has been married to Marjorie Earle for 49 years; they reside in Doraville, Georgia and have two children.
