James R. (Bob) Hightower

Class of 1992

Bob graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1942 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics.  Bob was a four-year member of the Viking football team playing both offense and defense.  During that time the Vikings won two conference championships, Bob co-captained the 1942 championship team with teammate Grover Redford.  During his football career Bob recalls never missing a game because of an injury.  Bob was also a letterman in basketball, and track and field.

Following graduation Bob served for three years in the United State Navy.  In 1946 Bob joined the Missouri Highway Patrol and served actively for 35 years.

Bob retired to Lexington, MO were he finds time to golf and fish.  During the winter months Bob spends his time in Florida.
