William O. Smith
Class of 1984
William graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. William earned four varsity letters in football and track and field, and he played in three bowl games as a member of the Viking football team. William was also a member of three conference championship teams. During his track career he was a member of three conference championship teams and a member of the record breaking sprint medley relay team at the Kansas Relays.
In 1960 William earned his Master’s Degree in Education at Drury College in Springfield (MO), and is currently completing his Specialist degree in Education Administration at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. William has held various teaching and coaching positions in Smithville, Springfield, and Moberly during the 1960’s. Since 1965 William has served as a high school counselor in Independence and Kansas City, and has also worked as a financial aid consultant with three federal programs.
William and his wife Jacque have four children Chris, Randy, Tim, and Susie.Athletic Events
