Ted Chittwood

Class of 1973

Ted graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1947 earning four letters in both football and track, and three letters in basketball.  Ted earned All-Conference football honors for three years, as well as, Little All-American honors and All-Star honors, and he was team captain his senior year.  Ted was also a member of four basketball championship teams.

Following graduation Ted became the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Raytown (MO) High School a position he held since 1947.  Ted’s football teams have played in four Show-Me Bowl games and won the State Championship in 1952.  Ted has a career coaching record of 184 wins, 86 losses, and 14 ties.

Ted’s honors are numerous and include:  Who’s Who in America’s College’s and Universities, Three Time Metro Football Coach of the Year, Missouri Scholastic Football Coach, Knut Rockne Award, “Nite of Sports” Leadership Award, American War Dad Leadership Award, Junior C. of C. Distinguished Service Award, President of the Kansas City Track Coaches Association, Executive Board of Missouri State High School Athletic Director Association, Missouri Valley College Spirit Award, ESO Film Leadership Award, President Secondary Division MAHPER, and an Honorary Member of the Central Missouri State University Physical Education Club.
