Viking Cheerleading Program
The Missouri Valley Cheerleading Program is recognized as one of the top programs in the nation. The Viking Cheer Team is made up of about twenty-five men and women, from which four men and 12 women are nominated to compete at our National Competition, as seen on ESPN.
The Missouri Valley Cheerleaders compete at the Universal Cheerleading Association National Championships held in Orlando, Florida, each January. This year the squad took 9th place in the Small Coed Division. The last two years the squad took 6th place at the competition. In 2006 the squad placed 8th. Previous rankings include 3rd place in 2004, 2nd place in 2003, and winning the National Title in 1999!
The Viking Cheerleaders also compete at the Heart of America Conference Spirit Squad Championships, where this year the team finished 2nd in the Coed Division. The team also placed 2nd in 2007, 3rd place in 2006, and took 2nd place in 2005. We pride ourselves in the hard work and dedication we put in throughout the competition season.
In addition to the team's competition success, the Missouri Valley Cheerleaders cheer at both home football and basketball games. The squad also participates in various fundraisers and public relation events for the college and the community.
