Jolene Christensen has been the head women's basketball coach at Missouri Valley College since February 2008, being promoted to the position after spending four years as the Vikings' top assistant coach. A native of Puyallup, Wash., she earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a minor in health, history, computers, and coaching at Huron University in South Dakota. She completed a master's degree in business management in May 2006 from Lindenwood University. Christensen was a four-year letter winner in basketball for the Screaming Eagles from 2000 to 2004, helping her team to the NAIA National Championship Tournament in 2004. A two-time team captain, she earned academic all-American honors four times. Christensen also teaches in the exercise science and physical education departments. She is married to MVC Assistant Football Coach Aaron Christensen. They reside in Marshall.

 

 

Casandra Renno

Graduate Assistant Womens Basketball Coach

Casandra Reeves Renno joined the coaching staff at Missouri Valley College as a Graduate Assistant Coach in the summer of 2008, bringing four-years of NCAA Division I experience to the Vikings. Casandra was a standout guard at the University of California, Riverside. A four-year starter in the backcourt for the Highlanders, she graduated in 2005, leaving the program as its all-time leader in assists and three-pointers. Her on-court honors included Big West Conference All-Freshman First Team honors and Big West honorable mention (2002), first team honors (2003 & 2004), and honorable mention (2005). In 2005, Casandra received a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal studies, majoring in English and minoring in Education. Following her graduation, Renno entered the coaching ranks in the 2005-06 season as an assistant at La Sierra University (Riverside, CA). There she was responsible for defense, breaking down game film and recruiting throughout the southwest. In 2006-07, Renno was the girls junior varsity head coach and assistant varsity coach at Hanau High School in Germany. Casandra is a native of Apple Valley, CA. She and her husband Marc, a member of the United States Army were married in 2005.
