Viking Baseball Team
The Missouri Valley Baseball program experienced a re-birth in 2001 and has been one of the premier programs in the country since that time. In 2001 the Vikings were the Heart of America Athletic Conference champions, NAIA Region V champions and finished the season one win short of advancing to the NAIA World Series. In 2002 the Vikings were the Heart of America Athletic Conference post season tournament champions and advanced to the championship game of the Region V tournament. In 2003, the Vikings again finished the season one win away from the NAIA World Series, losing two games to one in the Mid-South Super Regional Championship Series. It took the nations number one ranked Oklahoma City Stars to stop the Vikings after they had won the NAIA Region V championship for the second time in three years.
A true family, those involved in the Vikings baseball program BATTLE day in and day out to prepare themselves for an opportunity to achieve post season success. We take great pride in playing against one of the very toughest schedules in the country and in playing an old fashioned, hard-nosed, dirt bag brand of baseball. Our goal each year is to regain the form of the 1966 Viking club by advancing to the NAIA World Series in St. Joseph, Mo.
