Dudley McGlynn was born and reared in the Kansas City area of Missouri. He graduated from Missouri Valley in 1963. He also received a master’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Missouri. He has been a career participant in the behavior-therapy movement within clinical psychology and his career stops have included Mississippi State University, the University of Florida, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and he is currently a professor at Auburn University.
His part-time and long-term consultant posts have included the Mississippi State University Counseling Center, The Mississippi State Penitentiary; chronic pain clinics in Florida and Missouri, and the editorial boards of seven journals. He has published over 100 articles, chapters and reviews. He has four children and three grandchildren and resides in Auburn, Alabama.
