Spencer Fricke
Spencer Fricke received a bachelor’s degree in social studies from Missouri Valley College in 1966. After graduation Fricke served as a teacher and coach in the Marshall Public Schools until 1970.
In 1970, Fricke graduate from University of Central Missouri with a master’s degree in guidance and counseling and served in that capacity in the Marshall Public Schools until 1976.
In 1975, Fricke was recognized as Missouri State Teachers Association (MSTA) Administrator of the Year and served as a member of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) State Committee for Missouri School Improvement Plan from 1994-96. He also served as a member of the state Guidance Advisory Council from 1993-96.
In 1996 Fricke retired from Marshall Public Schools.
Fricke served on the University of Central Missouri Alumni Board of Directors from 2006-09 and was alumni president in 2007-08. Fricke has served on the Missouri Valley College Alumni Board since 2005. From 2007-09 Fricke served as president. He currently serves on the Marshall Board of Public Works.
Today, Fricke is a part-time instructor in the MVC education division and co-director of the Learning Center.
Spencer and his wife, Carla (Haynie) ’65, have three children—Kim, Lisa, and Mark—and three grandchildren. They reside in Marshall, Mo.
