Who may audition?Theatre auditions are available for students that wish to major or minor in theatre.
How do I request a theatre audition?
What should I prepare?Theatre students should prepare two 2-minute contrasting monologues, maximum length 3 minutes, one classical and one contemporary. Students interested in Musical Theatre can substitute a 16-32 bar piece from a musical for one of the monologues. Bring a headshot and resume.
Technical Theatre students should prepare a resume of theatre experience and present a portfolio that contains samples of their work. The audition will consist of an interview and resume review.
May my parents sit in the audition?No. The Theatre Department holds closed auditions. Parents will have the opportunity to discuss the audition process and theatre opportunities with the Theatre faculty, if they wish.
How long will the actual audition be?Auditions and interviews will be take place in 10-20 minute assigned time slots.
When should I check in for my audition?Students wishing to audition during the Open House must be checked in at the start of the Open House. During the Honors Scholars Competition, check-in will be Friday, January 24, 2014 between 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
