Captain Shaun Edwards is the Assistant Primary Instructor for Missouri Valley College.
As the primary instructor for Missouri Valley his responsibilities include instructing all levels of Military Science and mentoring young women and men to become officers in the United States Army.
Captain Edwards is a graduate of Missouri Valley College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, while attending Missouri Valley College Captain Edwards received his commission as an Engineer Branch officer from the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) in 2003. He has served a total of 10 years in the Missouri Army National Guard; 5 years have been as an Active Guard officer (AGR), which includes a one year tour in Operation Iraqi Freedom (2005-2006).
Captain Edwards served as a Platoon Leader for B Co 110th Engineer Battalion during his tour in Iraq, Assistant Operations officer for the 203rd Engineer Battalion, and is currently the Commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) for the 1/138 Infantry in Kansas City, MO.
Captain Edwards’s military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device, and Army Service Ribbon.
Captain Edwards is a Life Member-Veterans of Foreign Wars.
