Student Demographics & Achievements

Missouri Valley College is celebrating 125 years as an institution of higher education serving a very diverse population of students. MVC is a destination for students from all different backgrounds; the student body is comprised of students from 36 countries and 39 states. Thirty-seven percent of incoming students are first generation students, 54 percent represent students from low socioeconomic backgrounds, and 44 percent are minorities. The first-time, full-time, degree-seeking freshmen retention rate from last fall to this fall is 53 percent. Fall 2014 persistence rates of sophomores to the junior year is 78 percent; the junior to senior year persistence rate is 82 percent and seniors to graduation or to re-enroll and graduate is 88 percent. The 6-year graduation rate is 27 percent. Of the 2014 senior class, over 50 percent had employment secured or had been accepted to a graduate degree program following graduation. Missouri Valley College offers undergraduate students 37 majors and 26 minors. The College has one master's degree program in community counseling. This program has experienced a 100 percent graduation rate and 100 percent placement of its graduates.
