Degree in Biology

A degree in biology from Missouri Valley gives you the option to choose from three concentrations that complement our core biology coursework: conservation, general biology and pre-medical/pre-veterinary.

Conservation Concentration

The conservation concentration focuses on the study of biodiversity, the natural processes that control it and the maintenance of biodiversity under the increasing pressures of humans. This concentration benefits students interested in a career as a wildlife manager, conservation agent or field researcher, either in a private organization or government agency.

General Biology Concentration

The general biology concentration allows you to build a broad understanding of biological concepts. From the essentials of botany and zoology to the most intricate details of organic chemistry, this major provides a solid overview of the science of life.

Pre-Medical/Pre-Veterinary Concentration

Already decided on a career in the medical field? Whether your passion is people or animals, the pre-medical/pre-veterinary concentration at Missouri Valley is an in-depth study into the field of biology as it relates to preparation for advanced schooling in biomedical science.
