Mike Henderson: Reflections
May 14 - June 22, 2013
Morris Gallery of Contemporary Art
Hannah Reeves began making art at a young age, and held her first solo exhibition at age 19. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2005 and her Master of Fine Arts in 2008 from the University of Missouri in Columbia. She is interested in and inspired by experiences of nostalgia. Her thesis work, abstract sculptures reminiscent of antique furniture, dealt with the unreliable nature of memory. Her newest work extends this theme by recreating family snapshots. Reeves, in addition to making artwork, has taught at the University of Missouri and Missouri Valley College Departments of Art in recent years, and also currently serves as Director of the George Caleb Bingham Gallery at the University of Missouri.
