Wynand Bodewes

Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Maastricht University · Maastricht, the Netherlands

Wynand Bodewes is a senior lecturer in entrepreneurship at Maastricht University in Maastricht, the Netherlands. Although initially destined to become a chemical engineer, Bodewes later switched to business administration. Before pursuing a Ph.D. in general management at RSM, Erasmus University, Bodewes was briefly affiliated with Maastricht University to work on his master thesis. In between his graduation and his starting at Erasmus, he served for one year as a drafted officer in the Dutch Army.

Bodewes has co-authored several papers and books, and he has regularly acted as an ad-hoc reviewer for the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science and Long Range Planning. He was one of the founding members of the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship at RSM where he created and coordinated its MSc BA Programme in Entrepreneurship.

Bodewes is registered with the Chamber of Commerce as an entrepreneur, mainly to show his students how one can start a business with limited risk and effort. In 2009 he returned to Maastricht University to help build and deliver an outstanding portfolio of entrepreneurship courses. Teaching is Bodewes’ professional passion, yet he also enjoys to coach ambitious entrepreneurs in growing their businesses.

He holds a Ph.D. in general management from Erasmus University, an MSc Business Administration from University of Groningen, and a BChemEng Chemical Engineering from Rijkshogeschool Groningen.
