Dessie Stafford has a B.A. from Missouri Valley College, 1997 and a Masters of Accountancy with a Tax Specialty from University of Missouri – Columbia, 1998. She is a past president (2002-2003) as well as past vice president and past secretary of the Central Chapter of Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). She served on the Board of Directors of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, 2003-2004, has served on the MSCPA Nominating Committee, Estate Committee, Not-for-Profit Committee and currently serves on the Tax Committee. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Missouri Association of Accounting Educators. Stafford served 2003-2007 as a trustee for Missouri Baptist Children’s Home. She is a member of the Missouri Association of Accounting Educators. Over the past decade, she has written several articles on estate and gift tax for the Columbia Business Times and recently wrote a tax article on flexible spending accounts for The Asset. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant and served in public accounting before becoming a full-time educator.
