Murrell Library
Mary Slater has a Masters in Library Science degree from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Science degree from National College of Education. Ms. Slater started her career at Valley in 1997 and continues to work as the Reference Librarian in Murrell Library and an Assistant Professor of Humanities. She is the Evening Supervisor in Murrell Memorial Library, teaches Humanities courses online, and is looking forward to teaching Library Science classes online.
Prior to coming to Valley she worked at Timberland Regional Library in Olympia, Washington as a reference librarian, was Director of the Hodgkins Public Library in Hodgkins, Illinois and worked as a reference librarian at the College of DuPage where she received the part-time faculty award.
Ms. Slater is a member of MOBIUS, a Missouri library consortium, and is a member of the Mobius Electronic Resources Advisory Committee and the Mobius Collection Management Advisory Group.
