Dyann earned a BA in Theatre from Missouri Western College and an MFA in Design and Technology from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. She has worked at the university level teaching, designing costumes and managing costume shops for over 30 years. While she has worked for professional theatre companies such Missouri Repertory and Stages St. Louis, she prefers the academic setting. Dyann has former students working all over the country. Her teaching centers on costume design, construction and pattern drafting but also includes makeup, wigs (styling, ventilating and alteration), masks, dyeing techniques and costume crafts (jewelry, millinery). She has presented various workshops at state Thespian festivals and the United States Institute for Technical Theatre (USITT). She looks forward to developing the breadth and quality of costuming for theatre, dance and music venues here at Missouri Valley College.
