Photo of David L. RobertsDavid L. Roberts has a B.A. in Journalism from University of Arizona, 1979; and an M.A. in Journalism from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Lincoln, NE, 1997.

Roberts is a member of the Wyoming Historical Society, and the Friends of the Medicine Bow Museum.

He co-authored, The Wyoming Almanac, a 560-page almanac in its sixth printing. He has published several book reviews in The Bloomsbury Review, Denver, Colo; a historical article in "Readings in Wyoming History" and the "Annals of Wyoming". He also authored, "Sage Street," a collection of humorous essays; was founder, editor, and publisher of The Medicine Bow Post newspaper, Medicine Bow, Wyoming, for 11 years; co-authored, "Trails West", a historical publication; was an exchange reporter/participant for the Washington Post, Washington, D.C.; served in the Medicine Bow Area Chamber of Commerce; was founder, co-publisher of The Hanna Herald newspaper, Hanna, Wyoming; and, throughout his journalism career, has served as reporter, writer, photographer in various daily and weekly newspapers and monthly magazines.

He was the recipient of the Student Publications Award, University of Wyoming; and received top awards for newspaper, literary magazine, and yearbook from the Associated College Press and the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, Columbia University; assorted newspaper, magazine and yearbook awards from the regional Rocky Mountain Collegiate Press Association and the regional Society of Professional Journalists. Received five National Newspaper awards, five editorial leadership awards, a community service award from the Society of Professional Journalists, a second-place general excellence award from the Wyoming Press Association, and more than 40 writing and photo awards from the Wyoming Press Association. He was the recipient of the "Citizen of the Year" Award, given by the people of Medicine Bow, Wyoming, and has served as guest speaker for many events. He was also listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in Communications and Mass Media, and Who's Who in Finance and Industry.

His teaching/research interests are in historical media and management and journalism instruction.
