Matt Rahner recently received his MFA from the University of Missouri at Columbia, after recieveing his BFA from Columbia College in 2010. While attending graduate school Mr. Rahner studied under the photographers Joe Johnson, Daniel Farnum and Travis Shaffer. Mr. Rahner’s work has been awarded by Dominic Molon, Contemporary Arts Curator of the RISD Museum, and by Anne Lyden, International Photography Curator at the National Galleries of Scotland. Mr. Rahner's latest work, Eminent Domain, has been shown as a solo-exhibit at the Genevieve Guldner Gallery, in Kansas City, The Red Lady Gallery, in Kansas City, the Bingham Gallery, in Columbia, Missouri, and in September of 2015 will be displayed at the Elder Gallery located in Lincoln, Nebraska.
At Missouri Valley College Mr. Rahner teaches all levels of graphic design, photography and animation. Mr. Rahner is an avid researcher of contemporary art, and is constantly expanding his theoretical, historical, and practical knowledge in the field of art. Mr. Rahner is excited to work with the students of Missouri Valley College as they pursue their careers in graphic design, photography, or any related art profession.
Mr. Rahner calls Marshall home, where he lives with his wife, Anmarie, two daughters, Elsa and Ada.
