Ramone Powell was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He enjoyed his 2 years at Brookhaven Community College and 2 more at Missouri Valley College participating in basketball. He has a B.A. in Physical Education from Missouri Valley College, 2007; and an M.A. from Lindenwood University, 2009.

While attending Lindenwood he was an admissions counselor and assistant men’s basketball coach as a graduate assistant for two years. After graduation he worked as a referee and coached for Fort Worth Recreational Parks before returning back as an assistant and instructor.
