Dr. Mills is an Associate Professor of Education at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO. In addition to teaching a variety of Education courses, she is also in charge of placing and supervising the Elementary Education student teachers. In 2005, she earned a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Her dissertation analyzed the relationship among school transitions, parent involvement, and student achievement. Dr. Mills was also the 2003 University of Missouri, Columbia recipient of the Bob Macallum Award.
Dr. Mills earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Central Missouri State University in 1977. In 1991 she earned a Masters in Administration, and in 2001 an Education Specialist degree, both from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Mills also holds teaching certifications in Elementary K-8, Middle School and Administration. Previous education experience includes teaching at the elementary and middle school levels and a five year position as an Assistant Principal in an elementary school. She has been named a Who’s Who Among America’s Educators in 2003, 2004, and 2005. Dr. Mills is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
