Shawn McDaniel, Psy.D.
Assistant Professor of Psychology
Dr. McDaniel obtained his B.S. in Psychology adn B.A. in Justice from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in 2002. He obtained his M.A. in Clinical Psychology in 2005 and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2007 from the Forest Institute of Professional psychology in Springfield, MO. He completed his doctoral internship and post-doctoral at Royal Oaks Hospital.
Dr. McDaniel is a licensed psychologist in the state of Missouri. His primary specialties involve psychological assessment and child therapy. He currently maintains two private practice locations in Missouri, largely providing psychological assessments for civil and criminal cases, special education, and diagnosis and treatment recommendations. He has previously provided clinical services in various settings, which include correctional facilities, public schools, community outpatient clinics, and psychiatric hospitals.
Dr. McDaniel is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Association of University Professors. He has taught for two years at Missouri Valley College, both in the undergraduate psychology program and the graduate program in community counseling. He has also taught in counseling and psychology programs at the graduate and doctoral level at the School of Professional Psychology at Forest Institute and the University of Central Missouri. He has also provided numerous training presentations regarding assessment and diagnosis. His primary research interests include psychological assessment, parenting, and evidence-based practices.
