Jim McCrary has been a member of the MVC faculty since 2011. Prior to that date, he devoted more than thirty years to teaching in public education in a variety of roles and responsibilities. A resident of historic Lexington, Missouri, Mr. McCrary is an avid fly fisherman, traveler, reader, and video gamer. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and dogs. He is involved in a number of community activities in Lexington, ranging from coaching youth football to serving on the local Board of Education.
Mr. McCrary attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated from Missouri State University with a BS in Education with an English certification. He then earned a Master of Arts degree in English, with an emphasis on American Realism, from the University of Central Missouri.
Mr. McCrary is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English and the Conference on College Composition and Communication.
He currently teaches College Reading and Composition, Rhetoric and Composition, and Literature and Composition.
