Photo needed Lawrence Lent received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Nebraska in 1985, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Trinity College of Vermont in 1986, a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Saint Michael’s College in Vermont in 1988, and a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri in 1997.

Lent was a Licensed Professional Counselor from 1994 – 1998, a National Certified Counselor from 1993 - 1998, an AAMFT Clinical Member from 1994 – 1998, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist from 1995 – 1998, a Qualified Substance Abuse Counselor from 1991 to present, a Qualified Mental Retardation Professional from 1988 to Present, and he attended AIDS Counseling Training and Level I – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Training.

Lent has twelve years experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the fields of Psychology and Drug and Alcohol treatment prior to coming to Missouri Valley College in 2005. Lent also operated and owned outpatient mental health clinics for ten years focusing on mental illness and chemical dependency for adults and the concomitant disorders their children presented.
