Susan Dittmer has a B.S. Degree in Speech and Theatre/English from Missouri Valley College, 1975; and a M.A. Degree in Speech Communication from Central Missouri State University, 1991.

She is a member of the Speech and Theatre Association of Missouri. She was nominated as outstanding graduate student of the year and her thesis was nominated as outstanding thesis of the year. She has been named Who's Who in Math and Sciences.

Her teaching interests and specialized research lies in communication through the Internet.
