Cynthia G. Adams graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration with an emphasis in Corrections in 2001 from Park University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, received numerous scholarships and awards including Departmental Honors in Criminal Justice in both her junior and senior years of college.
From 2001-2004, Ms. Adams attended the University of Central Missouri (formerly Central Missouri State University) and received a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration. While at UCM, Ms. Adams received numerous honors including the Outstanding Student Leader award and Outstanding Graduate Student in Criminal Justice. Ms. Adams’ master’s thesis was titled “Sexually Aggressive Behavior among a Midwestern University Population” (2003).
Ms. Adams has presented numerous papers at national conferences including the American Criminal Justice Association (ACJS) and the American Correctional Association (ACA). In addition, she has published material in the Journal of Crime and Justice and the Encyclopedia of Criminology.
As an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, Ms. Adams has taught at Missouri Valley College since 2004. While at Valley, she started a local chapter, Phi Chi Omega, of the national organization, American Criminal Justice Association-Lambda Alpha Epsilon (ACJA-LAE). The local chapter has attended regional and national competitions with the national organization.
