Gerardo M. Acay, Ph.D
Professor of Political Science/Public Administration

Acay holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from
the University of the Philippines and continued his studies
at the University of Missouri where he received a Master
of Arts degree and a doctorate degree, both in political
science. His teaching fields include political theory
and philosophy, international relations, public policy, comparative
government, introduction to political systems and the American
political system.
He received
the John McCallum Excellence in Teaching award in May 1998 and the Governors
Award for Excellence in teaching in December 1998 in Jefferson City.
He was listed
in “Who’s Who among American teachers in 1994and was a Milligan
fellow in philosophy in Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, a Rockefeller
foundation fellow and international cooperative administration and national
economic council fellow at the University of the Philippines.
He is a
member of the American Political Science Association and the New York State
political Science Association (on and off). He has presented many papers
at professional society conferences and annual meetings. He is presently
completing a manuscript in International Relations.
